Slip and Fall

01 – 04

The term “slip and fall” is used to describe a wide range of scenarios. For example, you may slip on a spilled beverage at a restaurant or a grocery store, trip over an unsecured rug or floor mat, or fall down a malfunctioning escalator. Structural damage to a building or its surrounding area such as uneven steps, broken handrails on a staircase, cracked or uneven sidewalks, or parking lot potholes also constitute a slip and fall incident.

Slip and falls often result in serious injuries to the head, neck, and/or back. Broken bones, hip injuries, or foot and ankle injuries are also common. Those who suffer injuries from a slip and fall incident can potentially receive compensation whether the property is commercial, public, or residential. All property owners have a responsibility to keep their property in safe condition and to properly post warnings when hazards occur.
